Newer Injection Therapies
We are now offering two newer therapies for tendon, fascia (plantar fasciitis) or joint issues.
Often patients ask for a “shot”, this typically has meant to be a steroid injection.
While this can be done, often this is temporary and may-- after multiple injections --may cause tissues to breakdown.
Again, this can help but is often a band-aid type approach.
We are excited to offer these newer therapies.
CLARIX INJECTION THERAPY
One new injection therapy is called Clarix. This is a regenerative therapy which seeks to have your own body repair itself!
This has been very successful at our office and allowed patients to avoid or postpone surgery. This typically involves one injection only.
Please call for an appointment to discuss this further.
PRP INJECTION THERAPY
Our other newer therapy is called PRP or platelet rich plasma. This utilizes the patient's own blood to heal an area of tendonitis or joint pain.
Prior to the injection a small sample of blood is drawn from the patient. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the natural healing agents. The PLATELET – RICH-PLASMA is then injected into the damaged area. The healing process then begins as the platelets activate and release growth factors. Sometimes a single injection is all that is needed and other times up to three injections a few weeks apart may be necessary.
To be clear-- these are NOT covered by insurance.
The Clarix injection cost is $1199 for tendon, fascia or joint.
The PRP injections costs are:
- FOOT or ANKLE JOINTS $580
- PLANTAR FASCIA $790
- ACHILLES TENDON $720
